Summary
Eve is a homicide detective who is both good at her job and enjoys it. But she has been harboring a secret guilt for the last eight years. Before becoming an officer of the law, she was a camp counselor, and her favorite camper was Oksana Astankova. But one night, Oksana was kidnapped and Eve failed to save her. So once she joined the force, she dedicated her extra time to investigating her kidnapping. But one day she gets a letter from mysterious informant claiming to know where Oksana is. All she has to do is go to Paris. But when she gets there, she is surprised to see who the informant actually is. And even then, things take a turn.

(Original Summary which went out the window around about chapter 14: mostly an attempt at canon Jenny/Vastra meeting and build up of relationship and making up some history for Jenny not gonna be excessively big on historical accuracy Edit: there will be so much historical accuracy. this fic will abound with useless historical information that will nonetheless be quite accurate.)
